The 1972-S Eisenhower Proof Silver Dollar had a mintage of just 1,811,631. The composition of these coins is 60% copper and 40% silver. The diameter is 38.1mm. The mint marks for Denver and San Francisco mints are located on the obverse beneath Eisenhower's bust. The Philadelphia mint mark was omitted as with many other coins produced by the U.S. Mint. The proof coin is a special collector version that has been struck using a high quality minting process often resulting in mirror like fields and frosty devices. Each of these Eisenhower Dollars are in Gem Proof condition.
Just beautiful coins from many years ago. My 6 year old twin granddaughters will be receiving their first "Ike" and it will be their largest coin they have received to date. Hoping to make future young numismatists.
